iOS 4.1 to be released 8th September

At the Apple Keynote on 1st September,2010, Steve Jobs announced that the iOS4.1 software update will be available soon, and that is now rumored to be the 8th September.

This is good news for iphone 3g users that have had issues with performance since upgrading to 4.0

Here is a quick round up of new features:

High Dynamic Range (HDR) photos: Steve Jobs explained that HDR photos are created using 3 photos taken in rapid succession: one normal, one under-exposed, and one over-exposed. The photos are then combined using some pretty sophisticated algorithms to create an enhanced composite photo

Game Center: Apple’s social gaming network

Ability to rent TV shows from your iPhone for $0.99 (not available here in New Zealand…..surprise,surprise!)

HD video upload from your iPhone 4 over Wi-Fi

Fix for proximity sensor, Bluetooth and iPhone 3G iOS 4 performance problems!
